I wrote about Toko SHINODA in a previous blog post but felt it important to also create a YouTube video devoted to her paintings. Each and every one is a dichotomy -- exquisite yet strong, vibrant yet controlled, passionate but pared back, contemporary yet traditional...No other artist that I can think of has such mastery of her technique and the emotions and ideas that she wishes to translate into paintings.
